Carers week takes place from Monday 9 June to Sunday 15 June 2025. Its focus for this year is ‘Caring About Equality’ highlighting the inequalities faced by many unpaid carers, including a greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental and physical health.
Far too often, carers of all ages miss out on opportunities in their education, careers, or personal lives, because of their caring role. Carers week raises awareness of the challenges unpaid carers face and celebrates their vital contributions to families and communities.
The theme ‘Caring About Equality’, is calling for an equal society where carers are truly valued, recognised and supported. Find out more about this year’s campaign.
In Nottinghamshire, our partners and carer support providers are holding lots of face to face and online events to recognise carers and celebrate carers week.
Our colleagues at NHS England Unpaid Carers team are also running a series of webinars during the week to highlight the importance of identifying and supporting unpaid carers. The webinars are designed to share best practice, and provide opportunities for services to network and link, upscale work and share lessons learned. so please join if you can, to shine a light on the fantastic work happening across our providers, systems and regions to support unpaid carers.
